Gaming Console Repair Minnamurra

When your console stops working, the weekend plans go with it. If your PS5 won't power on, your Xbox shuts off mid-game or your Switch has stopped charging, PCC Computers can diagnose it, quote it and fix it, without you having to post it off to a call centre in another state.

We look after households across Minnamurra, Kiama Downs, Bombo and Kiama. Our nearest walk-in store is at Stockland Shellharbour, around 15 to 20 minutes' drive from Minnamurra, and we also offer courier pickup and drop-off if you'd rather not leave the house.

Call (02) 4201 4055 or bring your console in for a quote.

Common Gaming Console Problems We Fix

Most console faults fall into a handful of categories. Here are the ones we see most often from local gamers:

  • Console won't turn on. No lights, no sound, or a flash of power that dies straight away. Often a failed power supply, a faulty power connector or a motherboard fault.
  • Overheating and loud fans. Dust build-up and dried thermal paste make consoles run hot, throttle or shut down mid-game.
  • No picture or no signal. A damaged HDMI port is one of the most common console repairs we do. Bent pins, loose sockets and worn connectors all cause flickering or a black screen.
  • Disc drive problems. Discs that won't read, won't eject or make grinding noises.
  • Controller faults. Stick drift, sticky or unresponsive buttons, triggers that don't register and controllers that won't connect or hold a charge.
  • Charging and battery issues. Especially common on the Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite, including damaged USB-C charging ports and batteries that drain quickly.
  • Freezing, crashing and software errors. Boot loops, update failures and error codes that stop you playing.
  • Storage faults. Failing drives, slow loading and upgrades to larger storage.

If your fault isn't on the list, bring it in anyway. We'll test it properly and tell you what's wrong before any work starts.

Console-by-Console Repairs

PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Overheating and fan noise, HDMI port replacement, disc drive faults, no-power faults, controller repairs and storage upgrades.

Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One. Power faults, overheating, HDMI port damage, disc drive issues, software errors and controller repairs.

Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite and Switch OLED. Charging port replacement, battery replacement, Joy-Con drift, screen faults and docking problems.

Older and retro consoles. Ask us about PS3, Xbox 360 and other older systems. Availability of parts varies, and we'll be upfront about what's realistic to repair.

Why Minnamurra Gamers Choose PCC Computers

  • Local and accountable. We're an Illawarra business with real stores, real technicians and a phone that's answered locally.
  • Honest diagnosis first. You get a clear explanation of the fault and a quote before any repair begins.
  • Console-specific know-how. HDMI port work, thermal servicing and controller repairs need the right tools and a steady hand, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
  • Convenient options. Drop in at Stockland Shellharbour, or arrange courier pickup and drop-off from Minnamurra.
  • Fair, repair-or-replace advice. If a repair doesn't make financial sense, we'll tell you.
  • More than consoles. Gaming PCs, laptops and accessories can be sorted under the same roof.

How Our Console Repair Process Works

  1. Contact us. Call (02) 4201 4055 or visit the store. Tell us the console model and what's happening.
  2. Bring it in or book a courier. Drop it off at Stockland Shellharbour, or arrange pickup from your Minnamurra address.
  3. Our technicians test the console, controllers and cables to find the real fault.
  4. Clear quote. We explain the problem and the cost. Nothing is repaired without your approval.
  5. Repair and testing. The repair is completed, then the console is tested properly under load before it's returned.
  6. Pickup or delivery. Collect it in store or have it couriered back, then get back to gaming.

Pickup, Drop-Off and Where to Find Us

Minnamurra doesn't have a console repair shopfront of its own, so we've made it easy to reach us:

  • Stockland Shellharbour: Shop 1065, 211 Lake Entrance Road, Shellharbour. Open 7 days. Phone (02) 4201 4055.
  • Wollongong CBD: 132 Keira Street, Wollongong NSW 2500. Phone (02) 4231 4570.
  • Courier pickup and drop-off: available from Minnamurra and surrounding Kiama-area addresses. Ask us when you call.

Pack your console safely, remove any disc, and include the power cable and one controller if the fault involves them. If you can, back up your saves to the cloud first.

Gaming Setup Help Beyond Repairs

Once your console is fixed, we can help you get more from it: larger storage upgrades, replacement controllers and cables, home network and Wi-Fi checks for lag-free online play, and advice on cooling and placement so the problem doesn't come back.

FAQs

Q1: Where can I get gaming console repair in Minnamurra? PCC Computers repairs PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles for Minnamurra customers. Drop your console in at our Stockland Shellharbour store, or arrange courier pickup and drop-off from your address.

Q2: Which consoles do you repair? We repair PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite and Switch OLED. Ask us about older consoles such as PS3 and Xbox 360, as parts availability varies.

Q3: My PS5 or Xbox won't turn on. Can it be fixed? Often, yes. A console that won't power on is usually caused by a power supply fault, a faulty power connector or a motherboard issue. We test the console first, explain what we find and quote before any repair starts.

Q4: Can you fix a damaged HDMI port on my console? Yes. HDMI port replacement is one of the most common console repairs. Symptoms include no picture, flickering, or a cable that has to be held in place to work.

Q5: Why does my console overheat and shut down? Dust build-up, blocked vents and dried-out thermal paste are the usual causes. A proper clean and thermal service often restores normal temperatures and quieter fans.

Q6: Do you repair controllers and fix stick drift? Yes. We repair controller stick drift, unresponsive buttons and triggers, and charging or connection faults for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch controllers, including Joy-Cons.

Q7: How long does a console repair take? The time depends on the fault and parts availability. Simple jobs such as cleaning and thermal servicing are often quick, while HDMI port and motherboard repairs can take longer. We'll give you an estimate when we quote.

Q8: Will I lose my saved games and data? Most repairs don't affect your saved games, but we can't guarantee it for every fault. Back up to the cloud before dropping off your console, and tell us if the fault involves the storage drive.
